Apple at this year’s WWDC has announced new Augmented Reality capabilities for developers to take advantage of. The new Apple AR Kit makes multimedia interactions more personal and effective. There is a new “Measure” app which uses the camera to provide dimensions of objects. Also, with Adobe Creative Cloud and iOS, developers will now get a “what you see is what you get” experience in Augmented Reality editing.
This year’s conference was totally ‘hardware-free’ and had no announcements on upcoming Apple devices like Macbooks, iPads or iPhones. Apple has announced its next big iOS release—iOS 12– along with watchOS 5, tvOS 5 and the new macOS Mojave. Also, there were announcements on an improved Siri voice assistant. Apple claims Siri gets 10 billion requests every month. Now you can also add to a shortcut to Siri. With Siri shortcuts, you can tune Siri to fetch information from an app without opening it on the lock screen itself. The Siri shortcuts will be extended to the watchOS 5 as well. The new watchOS 5-powered Apple Watch wearables will make notification more interactive. There is also support for web content now.
